Social emotional learning and self regulation skills are the number one barrier that prevent students with special needs from being included in general education classrooms. This year my co-teacher and I are implementing a social emotional curriculum in our special needs preschool program. We will be using the Zones of Regulation, developed by Leah Kuypers.
We are asking for materials that will deepen our students learning and understanding of self regulation. This will greatly improve our program, and our ability to support our students social emotional needs. Many items on the list are sensory items that help our students self regulate.
