Our school does not have a print library and my classroom library is a place where they can seek comfort, inspiration, and information through books!
All of the books were chosen with my students in mind and what types of books they would both enjoy and feel connected to.
With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently and at their interest level. Literacy provides opportunities for my scholars and I know that without having access to books that they enjoy this can be a roadblock. I want them to help solidify their identity and combat bias; reading allows for empathy and understanding which can build bridges and heal. A book is a powerful tool in this world and my students deserve this access.
