With these books, my students will be able to read stories that focus on teenage life, and how the protagonists in the stories overcame adversity. These books are engaging, and can tie into what is happening in today's culture. My students will be able to enjoy what they are reading, and hopefully become more open to reading different genres.
Students are tired of reading the same types of stories that focus on a hero saving humanity, or a character with magical powers. The main complaint I have received is there aren't any stories that appeal to real life situations that students are facing. That's where these novels will benefit my students.
