Any good gym needs foldable mats so that children are safe when they learn gymnastics and other group activities. Our mats are used every day for activities including yoga, bowling, jumping and landing, and stations. One of our best activities is called Mat Madness. In a given week, more than 600 children used our foldable floor mats. Mats are crucial to gym safety. Right now, our students' mats are worn to the point where, unfortunately, safety is compromised. The seams where the mats are supposed to fold are ripped, so the mats don't fit together tightly as they should. Portions of the stuffing are coming out, which means the students' landings are not as soft and secure as they should be. Mats are expensive and we do not have the funds to purchase more. Our school does not have a PTA. Your support is very important so that all students, including those who call PE their favorite subject, will be safe.
