The students are exposed to fiction and non-fiction texts in class. I am teaching the NC standards for ELA using most of the content (modified) to instruct the students. Their abilities range from 1st grade to 5th grade. They would benefit from having access to a various texts. They all have a disability in reading, so reading is not what they enjoy doing. I feel being exposed and having access to a variety of books would help improve their interest in reading. I think the various titles and subjects will appeal to the diverse interests in the classroom (while addressing fiction and non-fiction text features.

About my class
