We will be using the Sphero Bolt Robots to introduce coding and computer programming to students. The Sphero Bolt gives students the opportunity to create and design code that uses sensors to track speed, direction, and acceleration. Technology and coding can impact academic performance in a number of ways. Coding helps students apply math skills in real-world situations and visualize abstract concepts. It also allows kids to strengthen their organizational skills, creativity, and confidence. My favorite part of the coding process is the problem solving steps that it requires in order to be successful. All students are challenged no matter what skill level they have. It teaches persistence, resiliency, and patience.
