In a 12:1:1 class setting, my students are in the most restrictive learning environment. I want to ensure they are given the utmost comfort and opportunity to learn without feeling confined in a small classroom.
I want them to enjoy their classroom and really build a sense of family while in school. When our students feel comfortable and safe in the classroom, it is then that we are able to seem them flourish in unimaginable ways.
Flexible seating choices such as bean bags, floor seats, soft seats, and pillows will help my sensory learners feel more relaxed and at ease with learning new material. Including fidgets will help ease anxiety for my students when they are feeling stuck or frustrated. A listening center will help build students' auditory skills in identifying key components in a text.
I've included Flocabulary because my students love technology and music and if I can incorporate vocabulary it will really help build their language skills. Being a STEAM school, integrating technology like the tablets will better prepare our boys and girls for the future.
