Reading is an essential life skill that all students must conquer. In my day, we were limited to print books, articles, and whatever magazines we could find. However, with new technology, students now have access to millions of books, articles, and magazines, with a simple swipe of their finger! With the purchase of classroom iPads, I will spark student interest in reading, by allowing them to have access to a more diverse education. No longer will they be limited by the books that are placed on a shelf, or required by their school’s curriculum. Now they can select reading material that they relate to, as well as, take a glimpse at what other students around the world are reading. By gaining classroom iPads, students will learn to navigate current technology, use interactive reading tools, enhance their vocabulary, and boost their reading levels. Their imaginations will soar as they are introduced to different reading styles, levels, tools and resources. This will not only enhance the classroom environment, but students will learn that reading does not have to be a boring task you only do at school. Reading can be an exciting tool that aids them in all subject areas.
