I have a wonderful group of first grade students that I teach in a public school system. My students come from a variety of backgrounds. Several of my students are from different countries. My students love to listen to me read. My students are very eager to become readers themselves. Several of my students lack books at home, so they look forward to any time we read in our classroom. Their eyes light up when I introduce a new book.
