Thank you for your interest in helping my Transitional Kindergarten students to learn about the world in which they live. Over the past 20 years, there has been a gradual decline in learning standards for geography. Many children are not aware of what state, country, or continent they live on, much less the ones abroad. As our world seems to become smaller with growing technology, it is vital that we are educated about countries, continents, and oceans!
With your help, I can bring the world to my classroom through the use of World Map Puzzles, a globe, solar system model, and an interactive Animal World Map Kids Rug. I can just imagine how much fun my students could have with the map rug - playing games where they have to stand on different countries, continents, and oceans.
The Smart Globe Explorer would be an amazing resource for my young students to explore the world and have fascinating facts read to them based on their areas of interest. This would be a perfect small-group learning center activity!
Again, thank you for your interest in enriching my students' daily classroom experience by literally giving them the world! ALL of these resources would be used and explored daily during our "purposeful play" time.
