The special needs students I work with are in 7th and 8th grade and range in disabilities from mentally retarded to autistic. They are enthusiastic to be at school and learn. Our class consists of learning functional academics and life skills. The school we are at is a public junior high, and they attend some general education classes, like PE and electives.
