Having different materials such as the The Butterfly Nursery, Three Rivers Amphibian Grow-A-Frog, and See It Grow Plant Lab will allow my student to experience natural items and life cycles in their environment. As these creatures come to life, children will learn and explore the materials about nature's beauty.
Children who live in an urban area don't always get the opportunity or have the financial capabilities to explore the world outside the city.
Having updated real materials in the classroom that incorporate nature would help get rid of the primary color materials that are cracked, discolored, and just very old. The basket and tray organizers are used to keep our manipulatives together and clean.
Nature has so many benefits in the classroom. It can heighten imagination and enthusiasm. It allows for higher critical and creative thinking skills. Not to mention take time away from the tablets and screen time! Having these items in the classroom will help me increase bringing nature to the classroom and update the setting from the plastic items to natural items.
