Support Mrs. Carey's classroom with a gift that fosters learning.
Our students are a diverse group of curious individuals in grades 9-12. It is a multi-age/ multi-grade classroom. The students receive all their academic instruction in our classroom. The students work at their own pace.
Our students face many social, emotional, and learning challenges.
Our students try to do their best, but they often lack basic coping strategies to deal with the little curve balls that life throws at them. Thus, little things, such as schedule changes, disappointments, or conflicts with peers can seem like larger issues throughout the school day. In addition, many of our students miss a lot of school due to appointments or other stressors so they may have a hard time keeping up with their school work.
Our school is located in the center city Allentown, PA. Many of our students come from low-income homes. Eighty-five percent of our population qualifies for free or reduced lunch.
