Students have difficulty concentrating and sitting still for prolonged periods of time. They need to have brain breaks frequently in order to have the most success from a student.
In our classroom family, we embrace our differences and accept each other how we are. I see students for only an hour to an hour and an half at a time and we need that time for learning and construction. If we could reduce the busyness of the bodies in the class we could get more accomplished in a short amount of time.
The chairs I chose for the students will keep them moving from their seats and more engaged with their activities. Some kids choose to move while others would just like a place to be cozy. That's why I chose some bean bag chairs, and some chairs that move.
