My students love reading but our school does not have enough books.
This is the first year that our school has first grade so we really have no books that are at student reading level. We need books for shared reading and independent reading. They would be so excited to have new books. As a teacher, I feel that we must foster student learning at a young age and build that love of reading.
Having a great classroom library will provide students with opportunities to develop their growing reading skills. It will also create a lifelong love of reading all types of books (fiction and non-fiction).
