Provide effective equipment to make our playground inclusive for all students to be able to play together....because all kids deserve the chance to play together.
Our students in our special education class that have diagnoses of autism specturm disorder, Down's syndrome, vestibular and sensory dysfunctions would greatly benefit form opportunities on playground equipment that provide sensory stimulation with spinning and vertical/bouncing or up and down motions. The kidforce spinner can provide for rotary movements, as the see saw can provide for vetical movements. Each motion described stimulates our sensory systems that are important for both physical, visual, and cognitive development. It will also encourage socialization with play on equipment with peers, such as on the 2 seated spring see saw, for kids to play cooperatively together. Technology, shortened physical education times, and less playtime outdoors has limited opportunities for our kids to experience these types of movement.
ALL KIDS NEED AND DESERVE A CHANCE TO HAVE ACCESSIBLITY TO PLAY ON APPROPRIATE PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT WITH ALL PEERS ....SAFELY, EFFECTIVELY, AND TOGETHER!
