My young students learn the best through multisensory learning opportunities. Hands-on learning experiences significantly increase student engagement and learning outcomes. Small group instruction time combined with developmentally appropriate resources promote connections that paper and pencil or digital work are not able to do.
Having these resources would allow me to create daily, interactive learning opportunities for all students in my class. The visual and sensory integration is especially important for the young students with limited English language proficiency levels. The ability to manipulate learning materials also boosts students' self confidence as well as increases accountability for their own learning.
