My students are learning about their emotions and feelings. They are also learning how to get along and understand how others feel. I've selected a variety of read aloud titles to help them understand more about their emotions. The books I've chosen will also make our classroom library more inclusive.
My students love to find themselves in the books we read. They can relate to the characters and make connections to their own lives. At 5, one doesn't always understand how others are feeling yet, they can understand how characters in a book are feeling and relate that to their own experiences. My goal is to use the books to help my students better understand their emotions and behaviors. The books will also help them see that although we share many similarities, our differences make us unique.
