My students, every student, deserves to have a space that they are comfortable working in. I would like to give mine the opportunity to not just learn how to read, write and do arithmetic, but, I also would like the opportunity to help my students figure out how they learn best.
Knowing how you learn best is a vital part of being successful in school and in life. As adults, we get to choose, most of the time, where and how we work. We know how we work best, something, that most of us, don't learn until early adulthood. I would like to give my students the chance to learn this about themselves as early as 1st grade. I believe this can make a difference in their successes in the classroom. It can help them stay focused longer, be more engaged and of course, be comfortable throughout the day; which in turn, allows them to excel in their school work.
