I work with several small groups of English learners throughout the day. I have students from kindergarten through fifth grade. Having a comfortable rug to sit on will help give us another place to meet together. The carpet will allow for more authentic interaction between students while we practice conversations.
The furniture in my classroom is meant for older students, but the carpet will be a place that works for everyone. My younger students will really benefit from the time we spend together on the carpet, but I know my older students will appreciate a chance to learn together on the carpet as well.
