The books I am requesting will be used to implement the curriculum within my Social Studies classroom. Students in my Fifth grade class are learning about explorers, the thirteen colonies, and the Revolutionary War this year. Books such as The Connecticut Colony or The Rhode Island Colony will be used for research to learn more about the thirteen colonies. The Travel With the Great Explorers books were a huge hit at the beginning of this year with my students for their research! Unfortunately, the three books I purchased were not enough for everyone.
My students enjoy reading books that are engaging and meaningful to their work. These books will help to make that happen. The books that I have chosen are meaningful to our curriculum, at an age-appropriate level, and engaging for the students.
