Students entering school today are often faced with obstacles their young minds are not developmentally ready to handle on their own. Experiencing divorce, death, abuse, or other trauma is not something any student should have to deal with but it is often a reality in today's world. A lot of times outbursts and throwing tantrums are the only ways students know they can communicate with an adult.
I would love to be able to provide my students with strategies and tools to help them manage their emotions by reading books with similar issues and characters!
Reading books such as, We're All Wonders, The Invisible Boy, and One, will help my students understand the feelings of others and how their actions affect others. The versatile storage unit will give students easy access to their library of books.
With your help and donations, I can better help my students develop skills in social-emotional development, empathy, inclusiveness and awareness of self and others instead of choosing physical and/or verbal outbursts.
