These items will encourage my students to read books as well as increase participation in class discussion with the ease of whiteboards. Whiteboards, or small dry erase boards, allow students to work collaboratively in small groups, and present their thinking in a visual way as part of the learning process.
Using whiteboards, students working in groups can report out to the entire class. More than one student can contribute to the group’s whiteboard, so students can easily fix their errors, revise their thinking, and rewrite their ideas.
Additionally, the chair pockets will serve as a storage resource that supports children's daily independent reading of self-selected books that meet their personal, recreational reading interests. We will increase our classroom library with the requested books.
