The Forwood students are currently competing in a school wide reading competition where students need to read over 20,000 books. Students are rewarded for reading at 4 benchmarks during the year. After reading the first 5,000 books, the students get to paint the faces of the administrators. After 10,000 books, the students duct tape the administrators to the wall. After 15,000, the students can throw pies in the administrator's face. And, if they read over 20,000 books, the administrators will get into a dunk tank.
The overall goal for this project is to increase the amount of nonfiction and fiction books in our library. Additionally, we would like to have a large selection of current, popular and informative books for children to select from.
