Battle of the Books is a reading incentive program for fourth, fifth, and sixth graders in our school district. Students will form book clubs, read award-winning books, participate in teams, and collaborate on comprehension questions.
Battle of the books is an engaging way for students to participate in a culture of reading that celebrates the social aspect of literacy. Battle of the books helps build a community of readers with a little friendly competition. Reading teams compete at the school-wide level, and winners head to a competition at the district level.
I am asking for your help to supply my classroom with high-quality and award-winning books that will be exciting for kids to read and discuss with their friends. Your support will allow more kids to get involved in the Battle of the Books competition and inspire fifth graders for year to come!
