Kelso's Choice is an award-winning curriculum that focuses on developing the essential social-emotional skill sets which help to boost academic achievement. Through reinforcement activities, story books, guided lessons and video vignettes, this program teaches self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills. Additionally, responsible decision making is taught through teaching Kelso鈥檚 nine ways to solve problems, referred to as 鈥淜elso鈥檚 Choices.鈥 This program provides practical tools, role playing activities, and interactive lessons which teaches the students how to independently solve problems. Students also learn to work and play together through cooperative learning projects and to appreciate each other鈥檚 special talents. Most importantly, these useful skills carry over into their daily lives, as it prepares them for handling the problems they will face throughout their lives.
