I teach low-income, at-risk pre-kindergarteners at a Chicago Public School. My students population is very diverse and includes cultures such as Somalia, Afghanistan, Nigeria, Mexico, Pakistan, India, Serbia, and Taiwan, to name a few. My students are eager and excited to learn. Their families are dedicated and hopeful about their child's future. While we have a high quality early childhood program at our school, we often lack important resources to provide the best education possible for our students. We hope to provide our students with an even stronger foundation for their future learning if we obtain more tools for our classroom.
