Research shows kids need to be able to move. They need to have an outlet. Taking that into consideration, I’ve tried to come up with alternative ways to help students concentrate and move at the same time. Flexible classrooms give students a choice in what kind of learning space works best for them, and helps them to work collaboratively, communicate, and engage in critical thinking. Flexible seating options stimulate students’ sense of touch. This type of stimulation can help children focus and process information. Sensory input is especially helpful for students with ADHD, ADD, and ASD. Fun; these beanbag seats, wobble chairs, and balance ball seats will help make learning fun.
