The science interactive notebook promotes students science learning and give students an opportunity to enhance their writing skills and reflect back to newly learned knowledge from earlier in the year. The teachers can also assign interactive notebooks to assess students learning and organization.A lesson consist of warm ups from the previous day; students open their science notebook and review the notes to answer the warm up. The notes of the day would be glued into their notebook and are used for the activity of the day. My goal for the students is to have them find the answers to the activities instead of them being told the answer. Students may partner up and trade notes while working on the activity. The glue and the notebooks are important so that students can keep a consistent daily journal of the daily activities.
Interactive notebooks allow the students to be creative with their learning and gives the students a sense of entitlement to their learning/belongings. The materials I am asking for are glue sticks, notebooks, color pencils. Since my school is considered to be Title 1, not all students have access to these materials. By having these materials, students will be able to participate with the class activity and add notes/activities each day. The notebook can act like a guideline for students to refer back to when they move on to the next grade level.
