The students in my classroom have not had many opportunities to play with other students or materials in positive ways. I have requested toys that would help them build and work together. The classroom has a focus on social-emotional learning as well as academic foundational skills.
Many of the toys like the Play-Doh, blocks and water table will encourage sensory play, peer interaction and build fine motor skill all at the same time. When students engage with high-quality materials they feel valued. I would like to provide my students with a space to explore and build with sensory materials.
