Having a piccolo will allow students another instrument to learn and add to their repertoire. The piccolo will be used in marching band as well as concert band. During marching band season, students play at football games, marching competitions, and three local parades. Concert bands students will be able to use the instrument to audition and participate in all county, regional, and state band. Having only one piccolo limits the number of students that can learn an instrument. A second piccolo will allow more students an opportunity to learn another instrument. Music has also been proven to increase test scores.
