The "No Fear Shakespeare" version of Othello allows students to mirror Shakespeare's original texts with plain English text in order to highlight the significant differences between the modern and original texts. In doing so, the text becomes more comprehensible and easily digestible.
Reading classic Shakespeare can be a daunting task for many high school students.
These books would offer students the opportunity to explore the countless themes and motifs presented in one of Shakespeare's plays in a way that allows the text to be more relevant to their lives. Giving student the opportunity to not stumble over the complex language, they are able to pay closer attention to detail in the overall meaning and connect to themes on a more personal level.
