Interactive stories provides opportunities for my students to engage in stories with increased motivation. A colored printer would provide students with colored stories that are more exciting to engage in. The coloring would also provide their communication boards to be in color to follow the color code system that is research based. A laminator machine, laminating sheets, and Velcro dots will help students get more engaged in the story by using the sense of touch to move pictures around. My students LOVE being able to interact with stories on a new level! This will help my students learn to respond to questions and inference when reading these stories. They will also work on using communication to respond to questions and comment on pictures seen throughout the stories. These items will also provide support in helping to create core communication boards and fringe boards to help my kids communicate throughout the school day. The core communication boards are used as low tech communication devices that can help students expand their expressive language. Can you imagine not having any means to communicate with your family, friends, coworkers, etc.? All of these items will help me provide my students with great language opportunities!
Let's help give my students a voice!
