The use of the storytelling sets, puppets and alphabet tubs help us daily during circle time, where we focus on a letter of the month. Since my students have severe cognitive delays, I try to incorporate any manipulatives that they can interact with, and that can activate their 5 senses. With my students, 2 dimensional items aren't always effective, so anything that is 3 dimensional and multi-sensory works best for them. I arrived at this school a few weeks ago, and inherited a classroom that did not have a stable teacher, so I am doing my best to enrich my students' school experience.
