The majority of instruction in our classroom is done in a small group setting. I spend 2 to 3 hours of my day with my students at the kidney table. I feel that students learn better when they are in a comfortable and fun environment.
I made chairs for students out of milk crates about 6 years ago, which have worked well. The problem that I have run into is that students like to rock back and forth, stand on their knees to see me better, and generally crawl all over the crates the whole time that they are at my small group table. I don't mind the movement as long as they are paying attention, however, doing that on the crates poses a danger of smashing their fingers, or falling off of them.
It would be amazing if we could set our small group table up with wobble chairs that would support the extra movement of my young students in a safe way!
