Have you ever been hungry, missed a meal, or what about not eaten all day? I want to be able to support my students learning starting with their bellies. Through educational nutrition support I hope to offer my students the information to make an educated decision on what to put in their bodies to fuel their brains. Over 80% of our students are Free and Reduced Meals (FARM) students, which means they have access to meals when in school for breakfast and lunch. This allows them to have a health start to their day while at school, but what happens when they are not in school?
I want to provide them with educational materials to help them build their knowledge of what fuels their bodies the best. With these materials they will be able to build a hands on food plate that will strengthen their bodies while in school and outside of school. Our students do not always have a choice in what they eat, but I hope to give them the education to make the right choices when they do.
