"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn," is a quote by Benjamin Franklin that accurately portrays the learning process in science. We are a hands on 5th grade math and science class. One of our first units of the school year covers force and motion. I plan on using this donation to have the students explore being mechanical engineers by drawing blueprints, constructing their own exhibit, and presenting on findings. Through building then explaining the concepts using unit vocabulary, the students should have a strong understanding of unit one force and motion.
