I would love the use of balance balls, bean bags, and sensory dough. I have seen the benefit of these flexible seating options in students academic growth. Students are able to focus because the body isn't resisting it's desire to squirm and fidget. By the students being able to move on purpose they will not be redirected or forced to stay still. Some of our students get into trouble because they can not properly process their emotions for various reasons. Having the sand could potentially allow the students to calm down and think their way out of a stressful, negative, or heighten state of emotion. The majority of students who live with attention/focus problems have a harder time processing and understanding what is being taught therefore they can not recall information needed to apply what they have or should have learned. Thank you!!
