I teach at a K-5 school and while the school is amazing, the budget is tight and therefore my classroom lacks games for students to play with during free time and recess. Providing time for play at school is vital for child development and I would love to encourage my students to engage in board games rather than always using electronics. There are many life skills that can be taught through playing group games; play particularly help students develop empathy and practice their social skills. My students and I made of list of board games they would enjoy having in the classroom and I would love to see that happen.
I want to bring old-fashioned play back into my classroom!
