The floor puzzles will encourage personal social development for each child with Autism in our classroom. The tactile numerals and alphabet (sandpaper materials), as well as Play Dough mats, will encourage progress on academic tasks. The sensory toys will work as incentives and rewards for completing academic work towards achieving each child's independent goals. The basic materials requested (Expo markers, copy paper, laminating pouches and Velcro), we as teachers will be able to provide basic educational activities, materials and work for our students to reach their maximum potential.
With these new educational materials, our special education students will have their sensory needs met while engaging in academic tasks in the classroom.
