Being able to be mobile in the classroom is key. Students take notes daily, but being stuck at the computer in order to teach makes it hard to also walk around. An iPad would make it possible for me to use Google Chromecast during class time so that I may get the best of both the technology and being able to walk around during lessons.
When students are working, it's imperative that I be able to be within close proximity to many students.
This allows for redirection, correction, and praise. It puts me as a teacher in the power zone where all the action is. In addition to this mobility, an iPad would also give us the opportunity to be able to get instant feedback from students using programs such as Plickers.
