Despite having a large gym, 3 Multipurpose rooms and a renovated rooftop, our middle school students have to have recess in the classrooms. We share our building with elementary school students and high school students. We have a student choice recess block, students can select which rooms to visit. Arts, Computer Room, Dance room or Board Games.
We have a limited amount of supplies for daily indoor recess. Our school doesn't have an art programs, teachers don't have access to art supplies or materials.I use my laptop to provide music for the dance room, however the classroom space doesn't allow for much movement for 30 middle schoolers.
Recess rooms have become, behavior hot spots. Students complain recess is boring or the rooms are too loud. Our scholars need more stimulation. Brain Games would ensure engagement and STEM curriculum integration by fun building toys and games!
