This trip allows students to experience business leaders as well as other speakers who help them to create a path towards their careers and ultimately the lives they will create for themselves. They get to see that what they are learning in school has a point outside the classroom and how it may apply to their future lives. Students also get the chance to network with other students from Colorado who are driven towards success and work hard for their goals. The students spend part of their time competing and working on their 21st century skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, communication, leadership, initiative and social skills. They do role plays where they are given a business situation and a role to play, and they must use their skills to solve the problem in front of a judge. Other students have written a business plan or done a community event and are presenting their work to a judge. They all have the chance to learn from others while also putting their own skills into action.
