Technology, organization, and hands-on learning are the perfect recipe for our fabulous math classroom! For most people, middle school can mark a crucial turning point in terms of their attitudes toward school, especially mathematics. My goal is to make every student that walks into my room love math as much as I do. I want them to leave 7th grade with a LOVE for math and a strong self confidence, knowing they are GREAT at math. In October, our community and school were hit hard by Hurricane Michael. The storm took so much from so many, including our beloved school. We lost the use of our school building, personal classroom items and games, and much of our technology. A new iPad for our classroom would allow me to continue to bring engaging lessons to my classes. I would be able to utilized various apps to furthur student understanding, demonstrate real life examples of math skills being taught, and provide note taking examples, while also allowing for notes to be uploaded to our digital classroom for students to study. This is especially helpful for my ESE students who greatly benefit from follow up reviews with parents and tutors. In addition, our new portable classroom is in need of storage solutions and shelving, as there are no closets or cabinets.
