Physical health, personal choice, comfort, and collaboration will all be addressed with flexible seating. The saucer chairs and standing desks will allow my students the flexibility to choose their own seat during reading and work time and teach them to share their space with peers (helping to build relationship skills); allow quick and easy access for pairing up with a partner, providing students the opportunity to collaborate with their peers; provide them some degree of choices in their learning environment as they pick their seat of choice; and encourage them to find the best position possible (rocking, bouncing, wobbling, leaning or standing) to stay calm and focused, ready to learn.
