My room is not set up for autistic K-12 students. The seating is hard and does not allow for movement. Movement is important. Sometimes, we just need furniture that allows us to either sit or lie down to work or calm. The first step in learning is creating a classroom environment that is inviting and meets their needs. I have students who are non-verbal and at times need a nice cozy chair or a big hug to soothe.
Please help me begin to move out old and non-functional furniture and replace it with furniture that is functional and inviting for my students.
