My students come in everyday excited about their school day. However, it doesn't take long before they are squirming in the their desks. It's not easy sitting on an uncomfortable chair all day. It's even harder for those students who are very active!
Flexible seating will help my active students be more engaged throughout the school day. There are studies that show that students will learn better if they are physically engaged and comfortable. These seats will allow for that. They will be able to bounce on the flexible ball seat, wobble around on the wobble seat/cushion or even stand if they need to. The rectangular table that is low to the floor will allow students to sit on cushions on the floor or even kneel.
This project will help my students to be more comfortable and engaged while they are learning in my class. I am so excited to see all the different ways we will use flexible seating.
