Students need to be able to make choices where they feel they will learn best. Flexible seating offers that choice and more. Active Kid Chairs allow students to burn off excessive energy while still working on activities. Surf portable lap desks can be moved anywhere in the room or even outside. These are perfect for group collaboration, Book Clubs, individual needs, and even sitting closer to the board to take notes. Floor cushions gives comfort to those students that want to work at the floor height hexagon table. The classroom stools are a perfect fit for Guided Reading at the kidney-shaped table. I even requested silencing headphones as sometimes students need to block out noise to focus or are sensitive to loud noises. We have many mainstreamed Autistic students who would benefit from a quieter classroom while others are collaborating. Last, but not least, a new pencil sharpener is needed yearly.
