My students must keep up with the latest advancements in education and literature to spark an interest in reading. Education is changing every single day, and so are the interests of my students. Students in my school are primarily minorities (97% of the population identifies as a minority race) and the number of students who identify within the LGBTQI+ spectrum is growing every day.
Students who find themselves represented in their literature feel empowered and inspired to be their most confident selves and readers.
Students who read these novels find reading fun and begin to read more for enjoyment! Help students begin to learn that reading for fun is perfect way to build better readers.
