I chose "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" and "Growing Vegetable Soup" to help teach these Pre-K children and their parents about nutrition. Books have been requested in both Spanish and English to serve the families of the school. These books will hopefully assist in both the health and literacy of these children. My hope is the parents will find it fun to read these books with their children, while encouraging conversation about healthy eating. One of the areas monitored and reported by HeadStart as being at-risk is BMI. The families who will get these books have been identified and parents have requested more information and follow up on healthy eating for their children.

About my class
